Synopsis:

WEST OF FRANK explores the metaphysical energy of the Jefferson Market Library, formerly a courthouse attached to the Women’s House of Detention in Manhattan, NY. Through the medium of dance, the characters in the books of the library bear witness to the acts of the American criminal justice system. Through the medium of dance, West of Frank honors queer culture pioneered by the women and trans-masculine prisoners held in the Women's House of Detention, including Angela Davis, Afeni Shakur, Andrea Dworkin, and Mae West. The characters in the books of the Jefferson Market Library-Court House explore the metaphysical energy of the acts of the American criminal justice system, honoring queer culture and the trans-masculine prisoners held in the Women's House of Detention.
