Synopsis:

We meet Maeve, a British expat living in Brooklyn, moments before undertaking the noble endeavour of the world’s oldest profession: shagging an old guy for cash. She links up with Frank (Larry Pine; Succession), her sugar-daddy-to-be, at a slinky restaurant on the Upper West Side hoping to secure the bag. Over the course of the evening, she’s surprised at how much they have in common—and she even begins to enjoy his company. When she makes her move, Frank breaks down in tears, revealing that it’s the one-year anniversary of his wife’s death. Once they confide their loneliness in each other, they forge an unlikely friendship.

Shot almost entirely in first-person POV, this sharp, darkly comedic short puts audiences smack dab in the perspective of the main character and highlights the absurd reality of being a woman in our culture. The film explore themes of loneliness, asks questions about the nature of transactional relationships, and emphasizes the basic human need for connection and vulnerability, all while interrogating worn out stereotypes.
