Synopsis:

Meet Amal is a proof-of-concept online series created to explore the character and world of Amal, the antihero of the pilot Hayawan, conceived by Sophia Alawi and Nathan Franx. The series takes viewers inside the imperfect mind of a Muslim American woman-child growing up in New Jersey in post-9/11 America. Amal doesn’t consider herself particularly religious — she sees herself as one of the “super-Americanized,” culturally Muslim types. But the more she tries to run from who she is, the more she finds herself pulled back.
