Synopsis:

Life is a constant loop which goes on and on until death comes. The title, "Hustle Go Pay," literally translates to a Nigerian vernacular phrase: “All your hard work will end in good results/wealth/good news.” It is also a play on a Quran verse close to my heart, Q94V5; “For indeed, with hardship will be ease (i.e., relief).” An important narrative within the work is how migration is closely linked to constant hustle: for a better life, better education, and actualization of dreams. This hustle is reinforced visually by the constant movement in the piece. When creating this work, I reminisced on the long journey that took me to graduate school. I played with the concept of waking up, remembering how much of life is in constant motion, and can be a constant up and down.
